Gautam Chhabra 

Gautam Chhabra is a Managing Director at Sona Asset Management. He joined Sona in May 2024 and brings 15 years of experience to the team.

Before joining Sona, Gautam was an Investment Director within Downing’s Development Capital Team. He joined Downing in 2022 from May Capital, where he had worked since 2013 as a Private Equity Principal focusing on the consumer, leisure, and real estate sectors, with a particular focus on real estate-backed operating businesses. Before moving to the buy-side, Gautam was an Associate in Lazard’s M&A team from 2011 to 2013, an Analyst in RBS’ M&A team from 2009 to 2011 and a summary analyst in Merrill Lynch’s M&A team in the summer of 2008.

Gautam holds a BA (Hons) in Politics from Queen Mary, University of London.
