Farrukh Iqbal

Farrukh Iqbal joined Sona as Portfolio Manager Asset-Based Finance in February 2026. He joins with over 30 years of experience investing across geographies and through multiple credit cycles.

Prior to joining Sona, he was most recently a Portfolio Manager at Elliott Investment Management, where he launched and scaled multiple high-performing credit businesses, including Vista Point Mortgage (Non-QM and Closed-End Second mortgages), Sage Residential (Excess Mortgage Servicing Rights), and Channel Partners (small business and equipment finance). These platforms combined proprietary credit and prepayment modeling with technology-driven origination, active asset management, and institutional securitization execution. Previously, he was a Managing Director at Centerbridge Partners, where he focused on US and European structured credit and asset-based finance investments, including RMBS and ABS securities, Spanish mortgage servicer Aktua, acquisitions of NPL and REO portfolios, and Cascade Financial, a manufactured housing lender. He began his career at Goldman Sachs, where he spent 13 years as a Mortgage Strategist, helping to develop Goldman’s prepayment, credit, OAS, and securitization-based valuation frameworks. He brings a proven track record of building platforms and investing across the capital structure in asset-based credit markets.

Farrukh graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BSE in Computer Science and Engineering
