John Aylward
Founder, Chief Investment Officer
John Aylward founded Sona Asset Management in March 2016. He draws on 19 years of credit market experience and an enduring entrepreneurial spirit in fulfilling his role as Sona’s CIO.
Prior to founding Sona, John joined Highbridge Capital in 2014, a multi-strategy firm, to run the European Credit Business. From 2010 to 2014, John headed up the European corporate credit strategy at Claren Road Asset Management, a long/short credit manager. Prior to joining Claren Road, John’s career began back in 2002 at Deutsche Bank (DB). There he gained broad credit experience in a variety of roles before being appointed as the head of high yield trading.
John graduated from Trinity College in Dublin with an LLB Law.
