Albert Marino
Partner, Head of Strategic Development
Albert Marino joined Sona as Head of Strategic Development in 2021. He has over 30 years of experience in the finance and investment sectors.
The previous decade of Albert’s career was spent at Claren Road Asset Management, which he co-founded, taking on the head of research role. In 2009, he was appointed as the firm’s Chief Operating Officer, leading a global team of 40 people across multiple business functions. Albert was responsible for the firm’s counterparty relationships, and the operational due diligence processes performed by fund investors. Between 2002-2005, he worked as a credit research analyst at Citigroup The first 10 years of Albert’s career were spent in project finance at WestLB, Newcourt Capital/CIT and Prudential Insurance Company America.
Albert has a B.S. from Cornell University and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
